Sample Itinerary
The sample itinerary described below is approximately like the itinerary your group will be following during your stay. However, the exact times, days and destinations may vary for your group.
Day 1 Depart from your hometown and travel to your overnight stop where lodging has been arranged for you (pack an overnight bag); dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 2 Enjoy breakfast, then check out and depart for your second overnight stop for lodging (pack an overnight bag); dinner is on your own in the area.
Day 3 Following breakfast, check out and travel to Cape Cod, MA where a tour representative will “meet and greet” you upon arrival. The Cape extends 70 miles into the sea and is home to both natural beauty and quaint colonial villages. After checking into your hotel, prepare for your first dinner on the Cape. Have an enjoyable evening.
Day 4 After breakfast, you will travel northward along scenic Route 6A (the Old King’s Highway) which winds through colonial villages filled with wonderful examples of New England architecture. You will view the Eastham Windmill and a Cape Cod Lighthouse and drive through the Cape Cod National Seashore area. You will also stop at the Visitor’s Center. You will be surrounded by sand dunes and the ocean as you approach your destination at the tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown. This was formerly known as the “Province Lands” where the Pilgrims landed here before deciding to settle across the bay in Plymouth. Provincetown has a rich history which combines a love of the sea and the arts. Walk along the waterfront and the narrow main streets and enjoy your free time exploring the shops, galleries and restaurants that make Provincetown so unique. After your visit, return to your hotel to relax and freshen up before departing for a delicious dinner at a popular restaurant.
Day 5 Following breakfast, your guide will escort you to Boston for a tour of the city where America’s roots were formed. Your guide will point out sights along the Freedom Trail as well as the Boston Common and Public Gardens, Back Bay, Bunker Hill, Beacon Hill, and the State House. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own in the area. In the afternoon you will head back to the Cape with a visit to America’s hometown, Plymouth, where picture stops will be made at Plymouth Rock (the traditional site of disembarkation of the Pilgrims in 1620) and the Mayflower I (a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World.) A stop will also be made at the Forefather’s Monument (the largest, solid granite monument in the United States.) Complete your day with a delicious dinner at a fabulous restaurant this evening.
Day 6 Your day begins with a hearty breakfast, then an experienced guide will board your motorcoach to take you on a day of touring in Sandwich and Hyannis Port. Travel to Sandwich, the oldest town on Cape Cod, where you will view the Village Green, the Great Salt Marsh, a cranberry bog, and Cape Cod Bay. Enjoy lunch on your own in Sandwich, then depart for Hyannis where your tour will include the John F. Kennedy Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Hyannis Port, and a view of St. Francis Xavier Church. Enjoy a Hyannis Harbor Cruise with a view of the Kennedy Compound. Spend some time on Main Street in Hyannis where you can do some shopping and enjoy dinner on your own before returning to your hotel for the evening.
Day 7 Enjoy breakfast, then checkout and bid farewell to Cape Cod as you depart for your overnight stop where lodging has been arranged for you (pack an overnight bag); dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 8 Following breakfast, check out and travel to your last night of lodging (pack an overnight bag): dinner is on your own in the area.
Day 9 After breakfast, check out and prepare for your departure home with lasting memories of your trip to Cape Cod.
